Student Issues and Development Committee
Are you a student interested in a more active role in NCSA? Consider joining the Student Issues and Development Committee!
The purpose of the Student Issues and Development Committee is to design and implement programming that meet the interests of sociology students in North Carolina and student members of NCSA. Programming may consist of but is not limited to invited speakers, panel discussions, student workshops at the annual NCSA conference. Events emphasize student issues and development. The committee is expected to sponsor at least one event/program at the annual NCSA conference.
Furthermore, the Student Issues and Development Committee acts as an advocate for students in NCSA and advises the Executive Council on opportunities to support student members.
The committee is chaired by a graduate student appointed by the NCSA Executive Council. The chair of the Student Issues and Development Committee must be from a university in North Carolina and a member of NCSA. The chair of the Student Issues and Development Committee will also serve as a member of the NCSA Executive Council.
The committee is open to all student members of NCSA and is a great way to build academic community and to create opportunities for other students.
If you are interested in joining the Student Issues and Development Committee, please send an email to the chair of the Student Issues and Development Committee, Stephanie Bertorelli (stephanie.bertorelli@gmail.com).
